Jack The Lad

Although nobody knows who he is or what he looks like, Jack is a resident of Coppers and he doesn’t miss a beat. Jack will be posting weekly updates and behind the scenes insights to the goings on in Copper Face Jacks each week.

If there’s anything you would like Jack to know about, he’d love to hear from you! Send all Hat-Tips towards jack@copperfacejacks.ie.

The worlds of Game of Thrones and Copper Face Jacks collide this Monday!

Two of the most loved franchises in the world are colliding this Monday. Copper Face Jacks and Game of Thrones, together, in one place. Now there’s something you didn’t think you would ever hear. Reading this, GOT fans will recognise the endless possibilities of names that could be intertwined. The Many Faced Jacks or Copper Face Jaqen H’ghar. We even have our own Watchers of the Shifting Wall, and men in black cloaks on the door being The Night’s Watch.  Anyhow, on Monday, the latest episode of the much loved fantasy series will be aired at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. Coppers have hopped on board the ship and will be showing the newest episode from our Residents bar. Sipping a pint while watching the world’s biggest show, in Coppers, is something you just have to experience. If this is something you feel that you cannot miss, book yourself and your mates a spot by sending a raven to rory@copperfacejacks.ie as there will be limited spaces. We’ll even throw in free entry for those of you want to stay a little longer 😉 Also on Monday, we have relaunched our Industry Mondays, aimed at giving something back to those who work behind the... read more

Lovin Coppers

There’s gonna be no foreplay this week. That’s just how excited Jack is about Coppers’ latest coup. Tomorrow (Friday), Copper Face Jacks will be taking over Lovin Dublin’s Instagram account, for the entire day!!! From early morning to, well, early morning, we will be documenting ‘A day in the life of’ Copper Face Jacks’. You lot seem to be familiar with the goings on of our nightclub, so you might just learn a thing or two from what happens behind the scenes! Make sure you’re following Lovin Dublin on Instagram!   Earlier in the week, we announced that our Wednesdays would be getting a bit of a shake up, we like to keep you guessing.  So, when we revealed that Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones would be playing EVERY WEDNESDAY in July and August starting from next week, safe to say it went down a treat. We’re really looking forward to kicking it off, and as always, Jack would advise that you keep an eye on our social media for a chance to win tickets to one of the best gigs in town! Speaking of winning tickets, we have another giveaway for you. Damn, we’re good to you 😉 This time it’s for the one and only Olly Murs, who is playing literally across the road at the Iveagh Gardens. It’s so easy. Come into Coppers, take a picture of yourself with a pint of Carlsberg…and send it to us! Simples! And remember folks, the more entertaining the photo, the better the chance you have of winning! What a time to be alive. Peace out, love always.... read more

So much more than a nightclub

It’s midweek, and it’s a new week in CFJ-HQ. Jack has quite an unusual pep his step all week. Maybe it’s the sunshine? Maybe it’s the tune of  Pretty Young Thing stuck in his head.  Or maybe Jack is just still buzzing from the the past week, a week that will rank very high in the Coppers history books. Wednesday, was a historical day for the country, and it was also quite a monumental one for us here at CFJ. Now, if you don’t know who or what we are talking about, you can probably figure it out. You’ve probably seen it online. You may even have seen it in the Sunday Independent! Jack is not one to gloat, but if Coppers is good enough for the gentleman in question, well then. With the madness that went along with Wednesday, Jack barely had time to cross his legs on Thursday, as there was another huge day ahead. Everyone’s favourite radio man, Eoghan McDermott, was throwing his 2FM listerners party in our venue. Eoghan brought, not one, but two massive acts with him. No bother to ya McDermott boy! The Blizzards, fronted by popular ladies man Bressie (Jack couldn’t get a look in all night, cheers Niall!), absolutely rocked the place.  And as if that wasn’t enough, DJ John Gibbons of ‘Pretty Young Thing’ fame, picked up where The Blizzards left off, and almost took the roof off the gaff. Both acts are hot property at the moment, with The Blizzards supporting The 1975 yesterday in Malahide Castle, and John is only supporting Bieber on Wednesday. No biggie.  It genuinely... read more

Love letters and Chicken Kievs

Who’d have thought it, eh? Our very own Jack The Lad is a bit of an old time romantic it seems. Now, he’s not exactly a wordsmith, but he was mixing it with a host of RTE stars this week. Earlier in the week, Jack received a letter, one that he wouldn’t be used to getting. It was a sort of a kind of a love letter. A letter of regret.  Well, it was a letter from a former love who we haven’t seen in a while. Stefanie Pressiner wrote to us to explain why we she suddenly stopped her regular visits to Coppers. Anyway, the letter was published on the Irish Independent’s online page. Jack responded with a witty response and people loved it.  It was a bit of craic really. Stefanie agreed to rekindle her love with us and join us for dinner, a Chicken Kiev, to be specific. Which brings to mind something Jack wants to talk to you all about. Dinner. You nightclub regulars will know Coppers inside-out, but do you know this… We do food. While nothing will ever compare to Mammy’s dinner, this may just be the next best thing. We have a full carvery menu, Monday to Friday from 12-3. For just €8, you can have a whopper of a feed. We even have a salad bar! Call in and give it a go, Jack says. Let us surprise you. 😉 The highlight of the coming weekend may just be Ireland Vs Austria on Sunday. It’s going to be a huge game for the boys in green. It’s live in Coppers from... read more

Can you keep up with us?

It’s been a hectic few weeks lately at CFJ-HQ. With Jack now sitting pretty in the new pad, he’s beginning to work on a long list of ideas and plans in store for Coppers. One of these ventures, a brand new website which is currently in the making. This website isn’t going to be your standard run of the mill website, oh no! We’ve enlisted the help of Google Certified photographers to pimp out our website in 360 footage of our beautiful little village. Jack likes to refer to CFJ as a village, lets face it, Coppers is bigger than most rural villages in the sticks. Is the world even ready for Coppers in virtual reality?    Jack being a big sports nut, is really looking forward to the weekend. On Saturday, the biggest game in Europe is finally here. We’ve been watching on since September, but for one last time season, we’ll be engrossed in the action for another ninety minutes. Coppers is a Sports Bar? There’s a lot more to us than you may realize. Kick off for the game is 19:45, a perfect time to start your Saturday night’s antics. You won’t have to ‘go to Coppers’ later in the night, you’ll already be there! 😉  Another thing for you all to keep an eye out for is the annual Coppers Ski Trip, which was launched yesterday with our partners Topflight. The trip will go on general sale next Friday 9th June @9am. This is our fourth annual trip, and it’s growing every year. Don’t miss out, Jack says. Back next week, enjoy the long weekend you... read more

Coppers has a new HQ!

Last week Jack promised you all that he had big news coming in the near future. Well, it starts here and now. One of the main things that Jack intends to use this blog for, is to give you lot an insight to behind the scenes at Copper Face Jacks. When JTL got a little bit excited when last week, this was one of the reasons why…   Jack has got himself a brand spanking new office! Well, in truth, it isn’t all just for Jack. This is the new home of Copper Face Jacks Marketing team, who will be bringing you and Coppers to the next level. Word has it that here’s a strong Cavan connection within the office, all will be revealed on that front very soon folks. What else can Jack share with you this week? Well your weekends might just be getting a little longer. What Jack means by this, is that everybody’s favorite weekend DJ, will now be playing Mondays! Dave Lyons, otherwise known as DJ Shiny Head, has sacrificed his Monday night’s by the fire side watching Fair City, whilst dabbing Miracle Grow on his head following another failed hair transplant. Ah we love you really Dave, ya big legend!  In other news, apparently we’re going to be hotter than Tenerife this week, so all you United fans out there need to get into our beer garden on Wednesday night for the Europa League Final. Sun, beer and football. What more could you want? A place in the Champions League maybe? 😉 There’s still so much Jack is dying to reveal. Stay tuned,... read more

Nurses went free and Coppers went mad!

First and foremost, we need to talk about last night. It was earlier on in the week, and it had been brought to Jack’s attention that Friday would be International Nurses Day. I’m sure all you Coppers regulars will know that we’ve had a strong affiliation with nurses ever since our doors opened back in 1995.

What a weekend!

Ahoy Hoy, as old man Burns would say. Summer (also commonly referred to as ‘study weather’) has officially arrived and boy did we have it good this week. Since Jack last sat on his bony arse to inform you of some glorious Coppers’ insights, there was the small matter of the long weekend.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, a Cornetto, and Ed Sheeran!

On Friday, news filtered around that Copper Face Jacks would be having a new set of eyes and ears, and you all got quite the scare. Hell, it was even on TV3. Jack The Lad, a resident of the famous nightclub in Harcourt Street, had everyone talking about him before he even opened his mouth. JTL doesn’t miss a beat. Jack, however, isn’t a bad lad. He will never name and shame on an individual basis, but will keep you informed of some of the goings on in Coppers over the past week. What a week to begin with. The past seven days will go down in Coppers history. On Tuesday, Jack was polishing up his best shoes and ironing out the creases on his not so neatly folded shirt. Jack had a big day ahead. Someone special was on the way. Our Premium Level was squeaky clean, in anticipation of this arrival.  So, who’s in the house? The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charlie Flanagan, was in the house! Mr. Flanagan was guest speaking at a corporate event for the Laois Association Dublin. I bet some of you didn’t know that we could be so formal, but hey, we’re not just a Copper Face you know. Whilst pretending to have the faintest clue about politics, Jack enjoyed mingling with the guests and trading stories of rural Ireland. The country boy inside was beginning to show. Jack struck up quite a friendship with one of elder members of the group who insisted on squeezing a ‘few pound’ into his hand with the instructions to buy himself an ice-cream. Reluctantly agreeing... read more
