#Coppers4Coppers for The Dublin Simon Community

 
Friday 10 February 2017, Dublin: Dublin’s famous nightclub, Copper Face Jacks have launched a charity initiative #Coppers4Coppers to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Dublin Simon Community.
 
Entertainment Reporter on SPIN 1038 and influencer Doireann Garrihy, Official Dublin GAA Footballer Paul Mannion and former international boxer @Bernard Dunne were all on hand to lend their support to the initiative which seeks to highlight the massive increase in homelessness in Dublin and across Ireland.
 
According to the latest CSO survey on Income and Living Conditions in Ireland (Feb 2017), 789,855 people are currently living in poverty in Ireland with a 28% increase in homelessness reported from December 2015 to December 2016 (DECLG, 2016).
 
‘The Dublin Simon Community are a long-established charity who do essential work towards ending homelessness, a socioeconomic issue which has taken root in Ireland over recent years. We are asking our patrons to support this initiative by donating loose change or texting ‘DUBSIMON’ to 50300 which donates €4 to the Dublin Simon Community’ said Carl Andreucetti, Marketing & Events Manager, Copper Face Jacks.
 
Speaking about the charity partnership, Sam McGuinness, Head of the Dublin Simon Community said:
 
“We were delighted to be asked to come on board as the charity partner for the Coppers4Coppers campaign with Copper Face Jacks. The generosity of the public with fundraisers like this means that we can continue to be there to support people when they need it the most and help guide them through these difficult times.”
 
Mr McGuinness continued by saying:
“The funds raised by this fundraiser will allow us to continue to provide our outreach, support and housing services and help move people out of homelessness and to plan for a better, brighter future.”
 
Dublin Simon Community work to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Meath and provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home.
 
The general public can show their support by texting ‘DUBSIMON’ to 50300 to donate €4 to the Dublin Simon Community.
 
100% of your donation goes to Dublin Simon Community across most network operators. Some operators apply VAT which means that a minimum of €3.25 will go to the Dublin Simon Community.
